I've always known that I was an artist. You can tell by the fashion-forward freestyling of the bangs in my kindergarten picture. But everyone knows you can't make a living by being an artist. Be serious, they told me.
So I was serious, and I went to college so that I could learn to make a living. And then I got my first real job - as an artist - photographing.
In the process of making my living I have also made my life.
I can't not photograph. It's who I am. It's the air that I breathe. I am a photographer.
And I still cut my own hair.
